This popular and refreshing grade of Japanese green tea is harvested from the second flush of sencha between summer and autumn.
It comes from the same tree as sencha grade, but it is plucked later than sencha.
Its flavour is unique, with an enticing organic straw smell. It is often consumed as part of the Macrobiotic Diet and is best infused at approx. 175°F and steeped for 30 seconds to half a minute
